School Shooting in Maryland Ends in Gunman's Death
17-year-old Austin Rollins of Great Mills High School in Maryland shot two students Tuesday morning before a school resource officer arrived at the scene. The officer fired a round at the gunman as he fired a round almost simultaneously. Rollins shot a 16-year-old female student with whom he had a previous relationship, as well as a 14-year-old male student. The female student is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, while the male student is in stable condition. The gunman died from his wounds incurred during the shooting, but authorities are not yet able to identify whether this was self-inflicted or caused by the officer’s gunfire.
