DNC CEO Steps Down
The CEO of the Democratic National Committee, Jess O’Connell, announced in an email Monday that she would be leaving her position for personal reasons. O’Connell held this position for less than a year during a time of major rebuilding in the Democratic party. DNC Chairman Tom Perez praised O’Connell’s work in the organization after many successful Democratic elections in states like Alabama, stating, “Her leadership brought a laser-like focus on winning elections up and down the ballot.” Perez is now in search of a candidate to fill O’Connell’s position while she continues work at the DNC through March.
