Chance the Rapper, the nationally beloved hip-hop artist out of Chicago, recently announced his plan for an awards show for educators called the Twilight Awards. In the past year, Chance the Rapper has already personally donated $1 million and met with Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner, and adds this new idea as part of his crusade for better education. The Twilight Awards, set to take place in Chicago in 2018, will recognize “teachers, parents, principals, and students that convey leadership.” The rapper adds invigorating passion for public education to the heated mix of national opinion concerning the worth and fate of America’s public school system.
