You Go, Girl!
Starting next year, women all over Saudi Arabia will enjoy a simple privilege that has long been prohibited: driving. The Arabian country was the only country in the world that did not allow their women to sit behind the wheel. Although Islamic or Saudi laws did not clearly prohibit them from driving, women were usually not issued driver’s licenses or were detained if they attempted to be on the road. Prince Khaled bin Salman, the king’s son and Saudi ambassador in Washington, stated that this was a “huge step forward” for women’s rights. We couldn’t agree more!
