Confirmed: Aaron Hernandez had CTE
Former NFL football player Aaron Hernandez’s autopsy shows he had a severe case of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). CTE is a degenerative brain disease that can only be diagnosed in an autopsy, and shows up in those who have been through multiple head injuries. Hernandez’s case was stage three, the second highest stage possible, and it has been released that this is the worst case they have seen in someone in Hernandez’s age group. This disease can cause mood swings, depression and other disorders. Hernandez was in prison serving a life-without-parole sentence for murder, when he committed suicide at the age of 27.
