Freaky Friday: Racist... or nah?
Wednesday at Fenway Park, the Boston Red Sox hosted the Oakland Athletics, but who won the game wasn’t what everyone remembered. 3 fans were removed from the game for holding a sign that read, “Racism is as American as Baseball.” The Red Sox released a statement about the banner, stating that displaying it was “in violation of the club’s policy prohibiting signs” to be hung in the ballpark. But the true message of the sign wasn’t clear. One of the people behind the banner said that there were originally 8 people who came up with this idea in order to bring up the conversation of race, for racial justice. Work on your wording, people.
