A Historical Miss America
Miss North Dakota, Cara Mund, became the first woman from her state to ever win the title of Miss America on Sunday evening. Mund made it known throughout the competition that the Peace Garden State had never seen a winner, and that many Miss North Dakotas never make it to the Top 10. Miss Texas, Margana Wood, also stole the show. Along with many other contestants, she used the Q&A portion to speak out against President Donald Trump. When questioned about Trump’s comments on the white supremacy issue in Charlottesville, Wood answered that the attack was "very obviously a terrorist attack" and that the number one issue in the country is making sure all Americans feel safe.
