GOAL for the US Women's Soccer Team
As a direct result of the players on the U.S. Women’s Soccer team seeking equitable wages to the players on the U.S. Men’s Soccer team, the U.S. Soccer Federation and the U.S. Women’s team’s union announced a new labor deal. This new deal includes raises in base pay and bonuses, in addition to better provisions for travel and accommodations and other additional rights. Even though their salaries are rising, it does not look like their wages will be exactly equitable with their male counterparts. The new labor deal runs through 2021, meaning the players will be under this contract for both the 2019 World Cup and 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
