A United Nations discussion on the possibility of a legally-binding ban on nuclear weapons was met with sharp criticism on Monday. Despite nearly 120 countries endorsing a plan to halt nuclear weapons, the United States, France, and Britain were among those who skipped a meeting discussing the subject. US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley argued that although a world without nuclear weapons would be more secure, the proposed ban is simply not realistic and could lead to the weapons ending up in the wrong hands.
