The British government announced yesterday that they will officially start the process of Brexiting on March 29th with an official notification to the European Union. This means that Britain will officially be divorced from the EU by early 2019. No one has ever left the EU before, so there is a lot of kinks that Britain and the EU will have to work out together, even if they aren’t exactly on the best of terms. Article 50 is the section in the EU’s treaty that contains the process of officially leaving the monetary clique, and has become another common name for referencing the separation.
