In a shocking turn of events, it was announced that Moonlight was the winner of the Best Picture Oscar – while the wrongly announced La La Land was onstage celebrating.  Legendary actors Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway made the mistake of announcing La La Land as Best Picture winner after being confused by a nearby announcement of Emma Stone’s Best Actress win for the same film. La La Land’s producer Jordan Horowitz was the one to reveal the mistake after reading the card handed to him by the presenters. At least the La La Land team was gracious about the error and presented the award to the correct winners, Barry Jenkins and the Moonlight team. This will probably go down as one of the most awkward moments in Oscar history, which begs the question, was Steve Harvey responsible?
