What You Need to Know About Populism in Britain
Britain has had a rising Populist movement headed by the U.K. Independence Party (UKIP) ever since they successfully induced Brexit in 2016. For the last century, British politics have operated under the change of power between the Conservative and Labour parties, but UKIP hopes to change the game. Their goal is to replace the Labour party as the political party for working-class voters. This anti-immigration group hopes to win their 3rd parliamentary seat in the last 25 years by getting Brexit voters to support UKIP. They plan to turn the town Stoke-on-Trent from a town infamous for its pottery to the U.K. Populist hub. UKIP continues to look to the Trump Administration for campaign ideas.
