Lieutenant General H.R. McMaster has been selected as President Trump’s new national security advisor. McMaster’s most recently served as the Army Capabilities Integration Center and was applauded by the President for his experience and respect amongst the military. McMaster will replace Michael Flynn, who after just 24 days on the job was forced to resign amid controversy surrounding interactions with a Russian diplomat. McMaster was not Trump’s first choice for the position, as Vice Admiral Robert Harward turned down the job last week, reportedly because of concerns over how the White House was being run. McMaster called his selection a privilege and says he is looking forward to protecting the interests of the American people.
