Parliament Tries to Water-down Trump's Visit
British Parliament debated for three hours yesterday as to whether or not they should disinvite President Donald Trump from a state dinner. This drew a lot of attention, but doesn’t have a lot of consequences because they do not actually have the power to do that, and never actually voted on it either. Leaders of the fight to take away Trump’s state dinner wanted to make it just an official visit instead, because they don’t want the world to think that Britain supports Trump’s policies. Usually Britain doesn’t try to get involved in American politics very much, but they have started to speak out more since Trump has been in the limelight.
