When Facebook Live Meets Law Enforcement
As of January 27th, a Fort Worth mother and daughter will not be charged following their arrests on December 21st. The officer who arrested them was originally responding to a call reporting the assault of the woman's son, but he quickly turned his attention to the mother and daughter, eventually shooting both with a stun gun. The arrests were posted on Facebook Live, leading to anger from the surrounding community over the violent nature of the confrontation. The officer was suspended for ten days and received a citation for the incident. The Fort Worth Police Chief has addressed the issue, stating that the appropriateness of the way in which the officers handle arrests is a top priority.
