Director Damien Chazelle returns with another musically themed film La La Land, starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone who play artists trying to make it in Hollywood while falling in love. Damien Chazelle and Emma Stone have generated buzz for their directing and performance, making them high contenders for winning in their respective categories. The film earned 14 nominations, including Best Original Screenplay, Best Original Score, and Best Achievement in Film Editing. Titanic and All About Eve are the only other two films that have earned 14 nominations in Oscar history.
