Detroit Tigers Owner Revealed as Rosa Parks' Silent Supporter
Detroit Tigers owner and Little Caesar’s founder Mike Ilitch, who passed away last Friday, has since been revealed to be an unsung supporter of the civil rights movement. After his death, federal judge Damon Keith revealed that Ilitch had paid Rosa Parks’ rent for over a decade without telling anyone after Parks needed to move to a safer complex when the apartment she lived in was robbed. Evidently, this was not his only quiet good work, as he is known for having helped rebuild the city of Detroit.
