CIA Releases Bin Laden’s Bookshelf
On Wednesday, the CIA released a large number of files that it says came from the raid of Osama bin Laden’s home in 2011. Included in the files was bin Laden’s personal journal. CIA Director Mike Pompeo said releasing the documents will allow Americans “to gain further insights into the plans and workings of this terrorist organization." The CIA did not release files that contained information harmful to national security, or that included copyrighted material, malware, or pornography. This newly released collection is known as “bin Laden’s bookshelf” by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
