Manhunt Continues in Utah for Wanted Suspect
The University of Utah went on lockdown for six hours Monday night after a carjacking attempt left one student dead. The suspect, 24-year-old Austin Boutain, and his wife are wanted for homicide that took place in Colorado last week. His wife, Kathleen Boutain, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for unrelated charges Tuesday. The Salt Lake Police Chief said Boutain most likely is “armed and dangerous” and still carrying at least one weapon. Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, were assisting Salt Lake Police Department in the search Monday night, both on campus and in the nearby canyons. The victim of the shooting was a 23-year-old Chinese international student, ChenWei Guo. All classes were cancelled Tuesday as authorities still search the campus and Red Butte Canyon.
