Mexican President and Trump Meeting Canceled
A meeting that was originally scheduled for Tuesday between the Mexican President, Enrique Pena Nieto, and Trump, discussing tensions over Trump’s plan to build a wall on the American-Mexican border, has been canceled. According to Trump, this construction will be paid for by Mexico, which is something that Pena Nieto did not agree with. To respond, Trump tweeted: “If Mexico is unwilling to pay for the badly needed wall, then it would be better to cancel the upcoming meeting." Pena Nieto, then, tweeted: "We have informed the White House that I will not attend the meeting scheduled for next Tuesday with the POTUS." The Mexican president now will wait for a final report from his officials in Washington, and previous meetings with Mexican legislators, before making a decision on what his next steps will be.
