Trump to Launch Investigation into Voter Fraud
President Trump has spread allegations of voter fraud as an excuse for losing the popular vote on Election Day, and now he has stated that he will dig deeper into those allegations. In two tweets yesterday morning, President Trump announced that he would request an investigation into voter fraud. White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer explained in a press briefing that the White House would reveal more details this week. It is unclear as to who would head the investigation, as the FBI has no authority to look into voter fraud. President Trump has flip flopped on the issue, at times calling recount efforts following the election “a scam.” Most recently, he expressed to lawmakers that immigrants in the country illegally voting for Hillary Clinton cost him the popular vote.
