Breaking the Barrier
For the first time in history, the Dow Jones, the most popular stock index on the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ, broke the 20,000 milestone on Wednesday. This breakthrough comes almost eighteen years after the Dow broke the 10,000 barrier in March 1999. It appears as though the “Trump Rally” has led to this historic moment and all the financial success. This concept of the “Trump Rally” centers on the optimism about President Trump’s pro-growth policies. This phenomenon began after President Trump’s election in November and gained new momentum when Trump signed many different executive orders since his Inauguration on Friday. Investment banks, such as Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan have profited the most from the Trump-era. Worldwide, global stocks have hit a 19-month high as well following this Trump rally.
