Obama Sends More Troops to Iraq
President Obama has decided to send 560 more troops to Iraq to aid and retake Mosul, a large city controlled by the Islamic State. Obama has been sending troops back to United States from Iraq for the past three years, but these newly deployed troops are being sent maintain an airfield 40 miles south of Mosul that was recently reclaimed by Iraqi soldiers. This airfield will hopefully provide logistical support to Iraqi forces as they attempt to retake Mosul. The 560 troops will add to the total of 4, 647 American service members in Iraq.
