Save the Rhinos!
5,424 rhinos have been poached in South Africa since 2006. In order to stop the illegal poaching of rhinos, one South African ranch is removing their horns. Currently, some rhino horns are worth up to $60,000 per kg, encouraging poachers to hunt these rhinos for the profit from their horns. Despite the fact that the horns grow back in under two years, this new practice has been very controversial. It takes place at Hume’s ranch in South Africa, which is not a national park, but a massive rhino breeding operation.
