Clinton Bids Farewell
Surrounded by her family, running mate, and campaign staff, Hillary Clinton officially conceded the election to Donald Trump Wednesday afternoon in New York. In a very emotional speech, she apologized for her shocking loss, thanked her supporters and staff, and urged the nation to come together to support the next President. Secretary Clinton also spoke directly to young women and girls across the nation, conveying her campaign’s continuing message of breaking the highest and hardest glass ceiling. Clinton did not give her concession speech last night, as is customary for defeated candidates, but did call the Trump campaign and spoke directly to the President-elect offering her well-wishes. After decades in the political spotlight, it appears as though the Clinton duo that has dominated the Democratic Party has suffered its last and most stinging defeat.
