To Brexit or Not to Brexit
You heard about Britain's big plan to leave the European Union. However, the High Court ruled that Parliament must give its approval before any part of the process can begin. This leaves the plan to leave the E.U. in uncertainty; it doesn’t necessarily halt the process, but it will definitely slow it down. Prime Minister Theresa May was planning to invoke the means for leaving the E.U., Article 50, by March, which now is up in the air. She is vowing to appeal the ruling to the Supreme Court, which will be heard in December. If May can not appeal the ruling, Parliament will have to vote on whether Britain leaves the E.U. Most lawmakers were not for Brexit. It is uncertain what would happen if the plan to leave was reversed.
