Trump and Obama’s Popularity Increase
Since the election two short weeks ago, Donald Trump, widely considered to be the most unpopular candidate ever elected President, has shown some improvements in his favorability ratings. According to a new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll of 1,885 registered voters, Trump’s favorability has increased to 46 percent, compared to a Morning Consult poll right before the election that had his favorability at just 37 percent. The same two polls showed his unfavorable ratings dropping from 61 percent to 46 percent. Also, President Obama has shown improvement in his favorable ratings, with his approval rating jumping from 50% before the election to 54 percent following the election.
