I (Don't) Love (the Electoral) College
Retiring senator from California, Barbara Boxer (D), is preparing to introduce a bill to abolish the Electoral College. The Hillary Clinton supporter has proposed a United States Constitutional amendment to decide our President based off of a popular vote rather than the Electoral College that is currently in place. Trump won by electoral votes, but lost by around 800,000 individual votes. The Presidential candidate winning by the electoral college but not the popular vote has happened only 5 times in history. There have been 700 proposals to change the Electoral College in the last 200 years. This Constitutional amendment would need a 2/3 majority in a now Republican Congress to be approved, so the chance of this bill passing looks low.
