More Agents Sent to the Texas Border
Authorities are reporting a surge in the number of undocumented families crossing the border from Mexico. Last month, 46,195 people were apprehended at the border, an average of 7,000 more than the previous two months. That puts the amount of people in immigration detention facilities at about 10,000 above its typical number. It is reported that many of the undocumented families are coming from Central American countries like Honduras and Guatemala. US Customs and Border Protection are sending agents from Arizona, California and other areas in Texas, in order to assist border agents in the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas.
