Most Wanted for UN Secretary General: Antonio Guterres
Portugal’s former Prime Minister, Antonio Guterres, has been set to become the next UN secretary general. Mr. Guterres, 67, is an engineer by trade, but has led the United Nations refugee agency for the past 10 years. He was thought to be the best pick for succeeding the last secretary general, Ban Ki-moon. Russia’s UN ambassador Vitaly Churkin even said Mr. Guterres was the “clear favorite.”
