Road Rage Resolved

A road rage incident from May of 2015 was settled in a Florida court Monday, October 17. Matthew Apperson, who was accused of attempting to shoot George Zimmerman in a fit of road rage, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for attempted second-degree murder, along with an extra 15 years for a related aggravated assault charge. Zimmerman became known in 2012 for fatally shooting teenager Trayvon Martin, which he was acquitted of for second-degree murder charges in 2013. On the stand, Apperson claimed to have shot at Zimmerman as a means of self-defense, while Zimmerman claimed that he had done nothing to provoke Apperson.
