Texas is Going to the Capitol
The unfilled Supreme Court will soon receive a big test regarding immigration, one coming from our own state. The United States v. Texas will be heard on Monday, with a special 90-minute hearing. Texas and 25 other states are suing the government for Obama’s program DAPA. DAPA allows undocumented parents of lawful residents to stay in the US, and is a piggy back program of his earlier program DACA, which allows children of undocumented citizens to apply to stay in the country. The states argue that this program will cost them too much money, while the Court is questioning if this program is a lawful action of the President.
